President's Committee releases report on Arts Ed

On May 5, 2011, The President's Committee on Arts and Humanities released the report
Over the past 18 months, the committee conducted an in-depth review of the current condition of arts education, surverying recent research about its documented benefits and identifying potential opportunities for advancing arts education. From the report, the committee made the following recommentations:
- Build collaboration among different approaches
- Develop the field of arts integration
- Expand in-school opportunities for teaching artists
- Utilize federal and state policies to reinforce the place of arts education in K-12 education
- Widen the field of eveidence gathering about arts education
